When the front-end triple-effect evaporator treats high-salt waste liquid, the heat exchanger frequently encounters scaling and blockage problems due to the analysis of salt in the waste liquid. Blockage occurs every 20 days, and each time the blockage occurs, the machine has to be shut down for 3-5 days for maintenance, which not only takes a lot of time, but also costs a certain amount of money for each maintenance, which brings a certain burden to the company. Moreover, the concentration ratio of the triple-effect evaporator is only 40%-50%, resulting in a large amount of mother liquor being discharged. At the same time, a large amount of waste gas generated during the evaporation process requires the installation of an additional waste gas collection system for centralized treatment, further increasing the company’s operating costs and environmental pressure.

Small test data

In terms of wastewater indicators, the pH value of the original solution is between 6 and 7, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) is as high as a certain value, and the dissolved solids (TDS) reach a high level. The pH value of the treated effluent becomes 10-11, COD is greatly reduced, and TDS also decreases significantly. This shows that the evaporator is effective in reducing the pollutant content in wastewater.

During the evaporation process, the temperature is maintained at 65℃, the vacuum degree is between -95 and -98KPa, the concentration ratio of the concentrate reaches 57.2%, and the evaporation time is 45 minutes. From the experimental process, the high-salt wastewater has an initial appearance of yellow and turbid water, but only slight bubbles are generated during the evaporation process, and the process is stable. The final effluent state is clear and transparent, and there are a lot of kettle residues in the kettle, which can be cleaned normally. 3. Through the analysis of the evaporation test results, the water sample is suitable for our company’s low-temperature crystallization evaporator.

Remark 1. “>”, “<” indicates that the test line is exceeded, and “ND” indicates that the lower limit is exceeded.

3. Since vacuum distillation requires a vacuum degree of more than 90%, water vapor will be brought out, so the return water and kettle residue are not equal to the weight of the original water sample.

Pilot data

The test aims to reduce the amount of wastewater and treat salt-containing wastewater. The wastewater is yellow in color, has a light odor, and after pH adjustment, foam will be generated when the raw water is shaken. When the evaporator is running, foam will be generated in the evaporation tank, so a small amount of defoaming agent needs to be added, and the equipment is in a stable operating state.

The effluent color is yellow, with a slight pungent smell, and there is a slight foam when shaking. The crystal color is yellower, and it is bulk particles when discharged. After being placed for a period of time, it will clump and smell bad. During the evaporation process, more crystal salt will adhere to the shaft, but it will be diluted after the liquid is added. The test summary shows that the raw water is yellow and has a slight odor after pH adjustment, less foam is generated during the evaporation process, and the effluent is overall yellow and has a faint odor.
